Lind is having a great year, he’s just finished
a two month residency at the most prestigious singer-songwriter
venue in Los Angeles, Hotel Café, he’s
performed at the launch of the new Hollywood indie
movie “Feed The Fish”, which features
his breathtaking score and songs from his last album,
Call Me Sinner, he also finds himself now being hailed
by artists, writers and serial bloggers as diverse
as Sir Tom Stoppard, Randy Newman and Stephen Fry
and finally he’s been asked to perform with
the great Americana artist Alejandro Escovedo at El
Rey’s in Los Angeles this August.
These are the results of an extraordinary career that
has taken this charismatic Englishman away from home
and into a rock ‘n’ roll band that traveled
across Britain playing bars and pubs, to playing jazz
clubs in Paris, singing blues nightly at Arthur's
Tavern in New York, jamming in New Orleans, forming
a band and living for a while in Louisville Kentucky.
He toured the USA three times, and has headlined before
thousands on the banks of the Ohio, at South By SouthWest,
The Wireless Festival, the Americana Festival, he’s
also supported acts from Ozzy Osbourne to James Blunt
to Wilco, made records for RCA, A&M and Sanctuary
and most recently released two successful and critically
acclaimed albums off his own label in the UK: Let’s
Get Lost and Call Me Sinner.
His music has featured in several films and tv shows,
from the Rupert Grint and Julie Walters hit “Driving
Lessons”, to the Dexter Fletcher film “Deadwood”,
and the multi-award winning East End gangster film
The End. He’s also produced and written for
other artists such as British indie artist Kate Aumonier,
while several pop artists, such as Duncan James from
boy-band Blue, have recorded his songs for their own
albums.
He’s enjoyed radio support across the BBC and
ILR national and regional stations, gaining Records-of-the-Week
and playlistings, performed live on radio and tv including
Radio 4 and BBC 6Music, a finalist of the Independent
Music Awards, he also received huge support from iTunes
who not only gave him the highly prestigious honour
of Single-of-the-Week but also included him on their
Essential music compilation.
TD Lind has recently toured the UK with Eileen Rose
& The Holy Wreck, had a Summer residency at The
Borderline in London, has been playing regularly in
Los Angeles, including shows at The House of Blues,
The Silverlake Lounge, Bordellos, Labrie’s and
Café Largo as well as a very successful two
month residency at Hotel Cafe. He has had his music
featured on the new American TV drama series “The
Unusuals” (ABC), while he has just had five
of his songs feature in the new 2010 indie Hollywood
movie “Feed The Fish” starring Tony Shaloub,
to which he has also written the entire score.
His new album ‘The Outskirts Of Prosper’
is released on May 2nd, followed by a single, ‘Pushover
Boy Blues’ on May 16th.
